Admission & intake
Admission requirements IBMS
To become an important player in the world market, you should be able to develop specific skills and insights. You should be flexible, motivated and think creatively. The following admission requirements apply to the IBMS degree on the Hbo level :
VWO/HAVO
- Specialization Economics & Society (EM)
- Specialization Nature & Engineering (NT) with major in Economics
- Specialization Nature & Health (NG) with major in Economics
HBO
A certificate from another Hbo education Institute, indicating you successfully finished their first year.
Entry requirements for foreign students
Acceptance into our programme is based on the evaluation of your educational (and in certain cases your professional) background and diploma's. The Nuffic (Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education) assesses foreign degrees and certificates in terms of the Dutch system and advises us on their acceptability. However, you will need to have completed your secondary education including Economics. Besides that you need to provide proof of English language proficiency (for example toefl 550/ielts 6.0).
If you do not meet these requirements, you may be accepted on the basis of the so-called 21+ test, or on a linkup programme for certain topics.
Deficiency research
If your profile/curriculum contains no Economics, you are deficient for this course. You have to eliminate this deficiency before you can go to the second year.
Intake assessment
An intake assessment provides an insight into mutual expectations, both for students and for EPBS. During this assessment we also look at whether you are entitled to certain topic dispensations based on prior education or competencies gained elsewhere. We look at what motivates you to start this education in the first place. Because it is a three-year education of very high intensity, this will be an important part of the intake assessment. This "selection at the gate" enables EPBS to continue to guarantee the high quality of education it provides for all students and their environment.
Residence permit foreign (non-EU) students
When you start studying at EuroPort Business School, we will apply for your residence permit with the IND. When you are still abroad the costs for the application (TEV) are € 360,--. If you already have a residence permit, which needs to be extended, the costs of the application are € 152,--. You can always check the most recent information on the IND website.
Each year we check if the international students have satisfactory academic progress. The study progress is satisfactory when you succesfully concluded at least 50% of the academic year. When the study progress is insufficient we will determine the reason for the poor results in consultation with the personal development coach. If it appears that the international student does not study enough or just can not keep up with the level of studying, the international student will be deregistered with IND within a month after finding. If it turns out to be the result of personal circumstances as stated in atricle 7.51 WHW as well as article 2.1 Uitvoeringsbesluit WHW, binding commitments will be made with the international student regarding the study progress. In the latter case the international student will not be deregistered with IND.
